Gordafarid

Gordāfarīd (Persian گردآفريد ) is one of the heroines in the Iranian national epic Shahnameh, the life's work of Iranian poet Abū ʾ l - Qāsim Firdausi ( 940/41-1020 ). Gordāfarīd was the daughter of the king Gostaham, the Administrator of the White Court. When Sohrab, the son Rostams, coming from Turan, the White Castle assault, to Gordāfarīd turned towards him in the male armor. She lost the duel against Sohrab, which they captured, but then released her back against a promise of marriage and escorted back to the White Castle. She rode quickly through the open castle gate and let quickly close the gate so that Sohrab had left behind. Sohrab captured on the following day the castle and left after Gordāfarīd looking for, but they had fled into the night with her father through an underground passage and escape the amorous Sohrab.

" The name was Gurdaferid, meaning" a hero created " Because, the delicate maiden, was a hero in arms. "

And Sohrab describes Gordāfarīd:

"When I saw you up there, I thought ' How beautiful she is! But now I see that you are much more beautiful. "

The effect of her beauty conscious, flatters the bound Gordāfarīd Sohrab:

" You he said this, and looked to him with a look that With which they transferred to him by the ropes; Bethöret he took her fishing line from the nape of the neck. As she felt with pleasure free the beautiful neck, And as with pride! Now you only saw how strong she was, Since such detention, she broke with a flattery. "
