Gordon MacDonald (Scottish politician)

Gordon MacDonald ( born January 2, 1960 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party.

McDonald attended the Cumbernauld High School and the Central College of Commerce in Glasgow and the Glasgow College of Technology. He then worked in various companies, most recently at a local transport company. In 1975, he joined the SNP and is currently treasurer of the party in the region Lothian.

For the first time MacDonald stepped up to the 2011 parliamentary elections to be national elections. In his constituency Edinburgh Pentlands he won at once the highest share of the vote and thus replaced the Conservatives David McLetchie. Since 2011, he sits for the first time in the Scottish Parliament.
