Gordon Marsden

Gordon Marsden ( born November 28, 1953 in Manchester ) is a British Labour Party politician. Marsden since 1997, Member of Parliament for the electoral district of Blackpool South in the House.

Life

Marsden was born in 1953 in Manchester. After leaving school at Stockport Grammar School Marsden studied Modern History at New College, Oxford. He then studied at the Warburg Institute, part of the University of London, and Harvard University Politics and International Relations. After his studies he worked as a tutor at the Open University since 1994. In addition, he was working as a writer for the magazine History Today and New Socialist.

After he was in 1992 failed at the first attempt, Marsden won the 1997 general election the seat in parliament for the constituency Blackpool South. Marsden was re- elected at the general election in 2001 and 2005. Marsden is a member of the Fabian Society, which he chaired in 2000 and 2001.

Marsden lives openly homosexual with his life partner in Brighton together.
