Gordon McQueen

Gordon McQueen ( born June 26, 1952 in Kilbirnie ) is a former Scottish footballer.

Playing career

In his school days he was first goalkeeper before it was converted into a defender. He began his career at Scottish club FC St. Mirren. Quick recognized the talent scouts what qualities the big man possessed and 1973, he moved to Leeds United, where he has been established as the successor of Jack Charlton. A year later, he had made ​​the breakthrough at Leeds and at the same time with this team won the championship. He formed a perfect pairing with Norman Hunter.
