Gorenje

Gorenje is a manufacturer of household appliances from Velenje, Slovenia. Products are marketed under its own name as well as OEM with foreign labels, such as for Sibir from Switzerland.

Gorenje belongs in the former Yugoslavia in addition to the Končar Group one of the largest appliance manufacturers. The range extends from the gas cooker washing machines to dishwashers. The company was founded in 1950 in Gorenje as an agricultural company. 1960, the headquarters was moved to Velenje. Revenue was approximately 1.382 billion euros in 2010. The export share is about 90 %, of which go beyond 60% in the EU. Gorenje has 11,174 employees worldwide.

The company sponsors the Slovenian handball club RK Velenje, which is therefore also called RK Gorenje Velenje.
