Gorjani

Gorjani ( German Görrach ) is a place in the historic region of Slavonia in Croatia and was inhabited in prehistoric times. On the nearby hill Kremenjača a settlement from the Neolithic Age and Roman coins was found.

In the history of the place has been received, because here in 1386 during the war between the rival noble Croatian- Hungarian queen Maria and her mother, Elizabeth, were captured.

From the former castle and its fortifications today is nothing left because the debris was used in the early 20th century as a building material for newer buildings.
