Gorky Reservoir

The Gorkier Reservoir (Russian Горьковское водохранилище / Gorkowskoje wodochranilischtsche ) is a reservoir on the Volga River in Russia (Europe). He is part of the so-called Volga - Kama cascade.

The reservoir is located northwest of the city of Nizhny Novgorod million and approximately 360 km north-east of Moscow. Its maximum storage capacity includes 8.71 billion cubic meters in 1590 km ². The hydropower plant Nizhny Novgorod ( ⊙ 56.65405643.374782 ) has an installed capacity of 520 MW.
