Goryachy Klyuch

Gorjatschi Kliuch (Russian Горячий Ключ ) is a town with 30,126 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia.

Geography

The city is located on the northern foothills of the Greater Caucasus, the Kuban inflow Psekups. The distance to the northern regional capital Krasnodar is 60 km, the nearest town is Adygeisk and is located about 40 km north of Gorjatschi Kliuch.

History

Gorjatschi Kliuch was founded in 1864 and was designed from the outset as a spa since near the present town are several thermal springs. Not even the city name is taken, which literally means "hot spring " means. Originally military were mainly treated from the nearby garrison bases in the newly established health resort; in the 1860s, there was a hospital, a bath house and a park.

In 1930 Gorjatschi Kliuch, now a nationally known address for those seeking relaxation, the status of a health resort settlement, since 1965 it has the status of a city.

Economy

The town near the intersection of the two highways M4 and M29 lying mainly lives from Kurbetrieb has little industry and therefore applies to Russian conditions as ecologically very clean. There are in Gorjatschi Kliuch several sanatoriums, that specialize in external and internal treatment with six varieties of mineral waters, which are obtained from a total of 17 sources in and around the city. In recent times, here is the construction of a large thermal spa complex planned for the specialists from Baden -Baden to participate.
