Gosaldo

Gosaldo ( in the Ladin language: Gosàlt ) is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 689 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Belluno in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 22 km west-northwest of Belluno, belongs to the Comunità montana Agordina and directly adjacent to the Trentino. The administrative headquarters is located in the district of Don. Parts of the community are in line with the National Park Belluno Dolomites.

History

In 1148 the church is mentioned as Agosaltum (after the Lombard name Gausoald ).

Traffic

Passing through the municipality, the former State Road 347 del Passo del Passo Duran Ceréda e (now a provincial road ) from Fiera di Primiero to Valle di Cadore.
