Goshi Hosono

Goshi Hosono (Japanese细 野 豪 志, Goshi Hosono, born August 21, 1971 in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party ( Maehara group), Member of the Shūgiin, the lower house of the national parliament, and a former minister. Since 2012 he has been Secretary General of the Democratic Party.

Hosono studied at the Faculty of Law, Kyoto University and then worked for Sanwa Sogo Kenkyujo (三 和 総 合 研究所, the "general Sanwa Research Institute ", engl. Sanwa Research Institute, the think tank of the Sanwa Bank, now part of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group ).

When Shūgiin - election in 2000 was a candidate Hosono for the Democratic Party in the 7th constituency Shizuoka (after reorganization of constituencies since 2002: 5th constituency Shizuoka ), was the incumbent, the former construction minister Yoshiaki Kibe (LDP ) to defeat some 16,000 votes. In the nationwide democratic election defeat in 2012 was 5 Hosono to defend the electoral district of Shizuoka confidently with around 59 % of the vote against Takeru Yoshikawa (LDP, 32%). The new party chairman Banri Kaieda called him in December 2012 as General Secretary in the party leadership.
