Hit version by George Harrison

George Harrison brought out in October 1987, a cover version of the title, which was produced by him in cooperation with Jeff Lynne. At the reception, along with George Harrison were (vocals and guitars) still involved Jeff Lynne (bass and keyboards), Jim Keltner (drums), Jim Horn ( saxophone) and Ray Cooper (percussion). This version was published as an advance single release of Harrison's album Cloud Nine. On the B - side was the Harrison composition Lay His Head. The publication took place on 12 October 1987, in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, Australia and Belgium, the piece was a number -one hit. Got My Mind Set on You was the third and final number -one hit by Harrison in the United States. The song also appeared on compilations Best of Dark Horse 1976-1989 and Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison. A live version appeared on the album Live in Japan.

After Harrison did not like the first music video, it turned directed by Gary Weis another video. In this second clip Harrison sitting in a chair in a haunted house, whose furniture moving, and plays guitar. In between, he suddenly springs up and performs an acrobatic dance routine that was clearly filmed with a double.
