Life

Gottfried Daniel Krummenacher came from the Krummenacher family from Westphalia. He was the younger brother of Friedrich Adolf Krummenacher. After studying theology, he was pastor from 1798 in Ramson (today: Duisburg), 1801 then in Wülfrath and from 1816 in Elberfeld.

He was theologically influenced by Friedrich Adolf lamp and was moreover as a moderate predecessor Hermann Friedrich Kohlbriigge. Through his preaching of God's free grace, which lacked pathos, Krummenacher was the head of the Lower Rhine revivalism.
