Gottlieb Schick

Christian Gottlieb Schick ( born August 15, 1776 in Stuttgart, † May 7, 1812 ) was a German painter of classicism. His history paintings, portraits and landscapes were characterized by romantic tendencies.

He studied painting, he began 1787 at the High School Karl Stuttgart as a student of Philipp Friedrich von Hetsch, put it away in 1795 at Johann Heinrich Dannecker and finished it from 1798 to 1802 in the studio of Jacques -Louis David. Between 1802 and 1811 he lived in Rome, where his painting was subject to the romantic influences. Characteristic and of a high level of awareness are his portraits.
