Goulphar lighthouse

Phare de Goulphar or Grand Phare de Kervilahouen is the name of a lighthouse, the town of Bangor in the department of Morbihan, on the island of Belle- Ile -en- Mer.

It can be visited and offers an extensive view of the Belle -Île and the horizon of the Croisic Peninsula to the city of Lorient. It has a range of 27 nautical miles.

Description

The granite tower Goulphar, together with its outbuildings, a stately building ensemble represents the Fresnel lens was built, powered by a counterweight that hung between the spiral staircase. To ensure a continuous rotation, this had to be repeated several times per night pulled up.
