Goumoens-le-Jux

Goumoens- le -Jux was a municipality in the district of Gros- de -Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. July 1, 2011 Goumoens- le -Jux went on in the new community Goumoëns.

Geography

Goumoens- le -Jux is at 585 m above sea level. M., 4.5 km north-west of Echallens and 17 km north of the canton capital Lausanne ( straight line ). Population

History

The place is called 1447 Gumoens lo Jux, later appeared also the name Goumoëns -le- Joux. Origin of Goumoens- le -Jux is a mentioned in the 12th century tower, which was expanded over time to a castle. After the split of the old ruling Goumoens into three parts in the 13th century, the castle of Goumoens- le -Jux seat of a side branch of the noble family Goumoens was. 1447 small territory was integrated by purchase in the rule Goumoens -la -Ville.
