Goumoens-le-Jux
Goumoens- le -Jux was a municipality in the district of Gros- de -Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. July 1, 2011 Goumoens- le -Jux went on in the new community Goumoëns.
Geography
Goumoens- le -Jux is at 585 m above sea level. M., 4.5 km north-west of Echallens and 17 km north of the canton capital Lausanne ( straight line ). Composed of only a few houses hamlet extends on the plateau of the central Gros de Vaud, on the eastern edge of the valley of the talent in the Vaud Mittelland.
The area of 1.3 km ² large former municipal area includes a portion of the gently undulating plateau of Gros de Vaud, the granary of the canton of Vaud. The area is crossed from south to north by the talent that has dug a 30 to 70 m deep valley in the molasse of the Plateau. While the valley is largely wooded, show the plateaus open farmland. The highest elevation of Goumoens- le -Jux is 615 m above sea level. M. reached on the plateau above Brésil. From the municipality surface 1997 2 % came from settlements, 34 % of forest and woody plants and 64% agriculture.
The municipality Goumoens- le -Jux included two individual farms. Neighboring communities of Goumoens- le -Jux were Penthéréaz, Goumoens -la -Ville, Eclagnens, Oulens -sous -Echallens and Bavois.
Population
With 43 inhabitants ( 31 December 2010) Goumoens- le -Jux terms of population was the smallest municipality in the canton of Vaud. Of the 97.1 % inhabitants are French-speaking and Italian-speaking 2.9 % (as of 2000). The population of Goumoens- le -Jux amounted in 1850 to 35 inhabitants in 1900 to 32 inhabitants. After the population had decreased to 1970 on 20 people, a population increase was recorded again.
Economy
Goumoens- le -Jux was until the second half of the 20th century, mainly coined by farming village. Even today, the crop and livestock farming have an important role in the economic structure of the population. More jobs are in the services available.
Traffic
Goumoens- le -Jux traffic is technically quite well developed, although located far away from larger thoroughfares on a main road Goumoens -la- Ville Bavois. The highway connecting La Sarraz at the 1981 opened A1 (Lausanne -Yverdon ) is just 5 km from the center. Goumoens- le -Jux has no connection to the public transport network.
History
The place is called 1447 Gumoens lo Jux, later appeared also the name Goumoëns -le- Joux. Origin of Goumoens- le -Jux is a mentioned in the 12th century tower, which was expanded over time to a castle. After the split of the old ruling Goumoens into three parts in the 13th century, the castle of Goumoens- le -Jux seat of a side branch of the noble family Goumoens was. 1447 small territory was integrated by purchase in the rule Goumoens -la -Ville. The castle was burnt down in 1475 by the Confederates, but at that time was no longer inhabited.
After the Burgundian Wars Goumoens- le -Jux in 1476 came to the Bailiwick Orbe Echallens, which was under the general rule of Bern and Fribourg. The village was called at that time temporarily Le Craux. After the collapse of the ancien régime Goumoens- le -Jux belonged from 1798 to 1803 during the Helvetic Republic to the canton of Geneva, who came up then with the enactment of the Act of Mediation in the canton of Vaud. 1798 was assigned to the District Echallens. From 1897 to 1973, the small community was under cantonal administration.
Attractions
