Gourcy

Gourcy is a city ( commune urbaine ) and a comprehensive department of the same area in the Northern Region and capital of the province Zondoma of the West African country of Burkina Faso. With the 38 to the area counted villages and the structured into five sectors Gourcy main town has 80 689 inhabitants. It is mainly populated by the Mossi. Gourcy is located on the highway from Ouagadougou to Mali and its inhabitants live mainly from agriculture.

Gourcy was the capital of the historic Empire Yatenga.
