Gourdon-Murat

Gourdon -Murat ( Murat Gordon s in Occitan ) is a commune in the Corrèze department in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Bugeat - Sornac - Millevaches au Coeur. The inhabitants call themselves Gourdonnais (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin, and is crossed by the Corrèze de Pradines, a right tributary of the Corrèze.

Tulle, prefecture of the department, is approximately 45 kilometers south-west slightly, Égletons about 25 kilometers south-east and Ussel about 45 kilometers to the east.

Neighboring villages of Gourdon -Murat Bugeat are in the north, Bonnefond in the east, Pradines in the south, the west and Lestards Viam Northwest.

The Lac de Viam is about 5 kilometers northwest of Gourdon -Murat.

Traffic

The village is located about 25 kilometers northwest of the exit 22 of the A89 autoroute.
