Gourmand World Cookbook Awards

The Gourmand World Cookbook Award is an award that recognizes the best cooking and beverage books in the world in different categories. It was founded by Edouard Cointreau in 1995 as " World Cookbook Awards". In 2001 it was renamed in the current form. The award ceremony took place at various locations including in London, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur and the Swedish Grythyttan. Since 2009 it is taking place in Paris, only in the Palais Royal, then the Folies Bergère, where she will be again in 2012. Overall, prices in more than 40 categories for cookbooks and 18 for drinks books awarded (as of 2008 ).

The objective of the award is the " good food " of all nations to promote international understanding and thus to achieve a greater awareness of good, varied and healthy food and drink around the world.

In 2009, over 8,000 books from 136 countries were submitted. This first had to qualify in national competitions. The classification of books in the award categories to provide international jury, consisting of four to five members.
