Government Protection Bureau

Biuro Ochrony Rządu (short: BOR; German "Government Protection Bureau " ) is a Polish law enforcement agency that is subordinate to the Polish Ministry of Interior. There is a uniformed and armed formation, which is responsible for the protection of members of the government, government properties and government facilities.

Jurisdiction

The protégés of BOR include the President of the Republic of Poland, both Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister and his deputy as well as the inner and the Foreign Minister. Furthermore BOR guarantees the protection of former president, is located in the territory of the Republic of Poland, foreign delegations and other important for the state vulnerable persons.

In addition to the Presidential Palace and the equipment used for the prime minister, and the foreign and interior ministers, BOR guarded all Polish embassies, consulates and missions to international organizations such as the UN or NATO, which are located outside the Polish territory.

In addition, BOR is responsible for the pyrotechnic protection of the Sejm, the Polish Parliament.

History

After the independence of Poland and founded the Second Polish Republic in 1918 to protect the most important people had to be guaranteed in the country.
