Governor Knowles State Forest

The Governor Knowles State Forest is a protected forest in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Wisconsin and extends about 90 km along the St. Croix River. Its area is about 80 km ² and is located within the county Burnett and Polk. Originally the name of the State Forests St. Croix River State Forest, but was in 1981 in honor of the 37th Governor of Wisconsin, Warren P. Knowles, renamed.
