Governor of Western Australia

The Governor of Western Australia is the representative of the British monarch, currently Queen Elizabeth II, in the Australian state of Western Australia (Western Australia). The governor exercises at the state level, the same constitutional and ceremonial functions as the Governor-General of Australia at the national level.

In accordance with the conventions of the Westminster system, the Governor is almost exclusively in accordance with the advice of the leader of the elected government, in this case the Prime Minister of Western Australia. However, the governor has the right to dismiss the prime minister.
