Winners and nominees in the category Best Actress ( Mejor interpretación femenina protagonista, formerly Mejor actriz principal) since the first award of the Spanish National Film Awards on March 16, 1987 at Cine Lope de Vega in Madrid. The award recognizes the best actresses of local film productions (including Spanish co-production ) of each last year.
