Gozinaki

Gosinaki (Georgian გოზინაყი ) is a sweet made with honey and walnuts and a typical part of the Georgian New Year. It is only on the eve of the Georgian New Year's Day and Georgian Christmas presented, which is celebrated according to the calendar of the Orthodox Church in Georgia on 7 January.

Production

In a pan honey is heated and then added crushed, skinned walnuts. This mass is stirred with a wooden spoon. Even during the roasting process sugar is added depending on the recipe in varying quantity. Thus giving a Georgian website as ingredients 1 kg peeled and skinned walnuts, 600 g honey (light colored) and 2-3 teaspoons of sugar, while another 500 g to 250 g walnuts and honey 4 tablespoons sugar calculated. The finished, flat -rolled mass is at the end with a warm knife into pieces, often in diamond-shaped cut.
