Stetten grave is located at the northern edge of the Swabian Alb, about 19 kilometers east of Reutlingen.

Historical Geography

History

The Alemannic settlement expansion grave Stetten is first mentioned in the first half of the 12th century as Grabanostetten and 1152 under the name Grabanostettin. The name is derived from the remains of the fortifications of the occupied as a Celtic settlement in the 20th century Heidegraben.

Until 1635, the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648 ) made ​​itself felt in grave Stetten. Natural Monuments

The Falkensteiner Cave is located on the escarpment between grave Stetten and Bad Urach. The 5 km long cave is an active water cave, ie the rainfall seeping through the Karst of the Swabian Alb and go through the cave into the open. The water of the cave are the source of Elsach.
