Graduated neutral density filter

Grauverlauffilter or GND filter (from the English graduated neutral density filter ) are ND filters that are towards one end completely transparent. They are often used in landscape photography to avoid overexposure of the sky with the correct exposure of the soil. The effect of a GND filter can be only very limited simulated by electronic image processing, since in over exposed areas, image information is usually lost.

Neutrality

No currently being on the market Filter is color neutral. The reason for this is not only the actual filter material, the fact that where the filter darkens, although light in the infrared wavelength region penetrating the filter unhindered. The longer exposure time occurs as a result often a color tinge reddish.
