Graeme McDowell

Graeme McDowell, MBE ( born July 30, 1979 in Portrush, Northern Ireland ) is a professional golfer who plays both on the European Tour as well as on the U.S. PGA TOUR.

Career

Like many of the recent British golfer Guard visited McDowell an American university, the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1998 to 2002. He reached in 2001 and 2002 the first rank among the college golfers, thereby improving existing records of Luke Donald and Tiger Woods, and 2001 was a member of the winning team of Great Britain and Ireland in the Walker Cup.

In 2002, McDowell professional golfer and has already won at his fourth start on the European Tour his first tournament, the Volvo Scandinavian Masters heavily occupied. In 2004 he won at the Telecom Italia Open and finished the season in sixth place on the European Tour Order of Merit.

As of 2005, denied McDowell also tournaments on the North American PGA TOUR, in the top 50 World Golf Rankings for which he got enough referrals due to its temporary placement. However, he won so much prize money that he earned the full eligibility for the 2006 season. However, further success came from and McDowell turned away from the 2007 season, again the European tournament Done.

Graeme McDowell was a member of the victorious GB & Ireland team at the Seve Trophy in 2005 and won the European Team 2006, the Royal Trophy against the best golfers in Asia. In 2008, he played for the first time in the European Ryder Cup team.

In June 2010, he won a victory at the U.S. Open his first major title. In October 2010, he secured the victory for the European team in the Ryder Cup 2010.
