Graffignano
Graffignano is a municipality with 2334 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Viterbo in the Italian region of Lazio.

Geography
Graffignano is located 101 km north of Rome and 28 km north-east of Viterbo in the valley of the Tiber. The municipality covers an altitude 62-326 m slm
The municipality belongs to the district Sipicciano and residential places Litigata, Pisciarello, Poggio del Castagno, San Nicola and Tardani.
The neighboring municipalities are Alviano (TR ), Attigliano (TR ), Bomarzo, Civitella d' Agliano, Lugnano in Teverina (TR) and Viterbo.
The municipality is located in the seismic zone 3 (slightly endangered).
Traffic
The territory of Graffignano is crossed by the A1 Autostrada del Sole. The next exit is, however, only 15 km away in Attigliano. The municipality has a station on the railway line Orte-Viterbo in the district Sipicciano.
History
The territory has been inhabited since ancient times, as evidenced by the many Etruscan and Roman finds. The present town was founded in the 13th century by Pandolfo d' Anguillara.

Policy
Adriano Santori (PD ) was elected in June 2009 for the mayor. He replaced Fabrizio Marchini (2004-2009), who did not run. His center-left list, also with 8 of 12 seats, the majority in the City Council.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms shows the patron saint of the place, the Saints Martin, as he shares his coat with a beggar.
Attractions
The Castello Baglioni was built in the 13th century on the ancient building remains.
