Graham Kavanagh

Graham Kavanagh ( born December 2, 1973 in Dublin) is an Irish football player.

The midfielder began his career at Home Farm and moved in 1991 to Middlesbrough FC, for whom he has seen only 35 missions until 1996. Since he was only a reserve player there, he moved in 1996 after a brief previous loan for a fee of £ 250,000 to Stoke City, for which he played more than 200 missions to 2001 and scored 34 goals. In 2001 he transferred for £ 1m to Cardiff City, for in his first season he hit equal to 12 times. He was transferred to Wigan Athletic because of major financial worries for about £ 400,000 from Cardiff City in 2005. After one season, he moved on 31 August 2006 for £ 500,000 to Sunderland AFC. There, however, he was able to complete only 14 games because of injury problems. Therefore Kavanagh was until 2008 on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, then another year to Carlisle United. Thither he moved permanently in 2009 and was player-coach.

His good performances at Stoke City soon led to the fact that he was appointed on 25 March 1998 in the Irish national team. He was there but could not be stopped. After three internationals seemed 1999 his international career therefore been terminated. In November 2003, but he then returned yet and belonged until 2006 to the Irish squad. To 16 August 2006, he has completed 16 international matches and, scoring a goal.
