Graham King

Graham King, OBE ( born December 19, 1961 in England ) is a British film producer. He is the chairman and president of Initial Entertainment Group and co-founder of GK Films, an independent film production and finance company.

Biography

The early 1980s drew Graham King to Los Angeles, where he worked for 20th Century Fox. After five years he went to Cori Films. In 1991 he founded the Initial Entertainment Group, and produced several successful films like Traffic - power of the cartel, Desert Saints, as well as the Scorsese movies Gangs of New York, The Aviator and The Departed - The Departed. For the latter, King was awarded the 2007 Academy Award for Best Picture.

In May 2007, he and Tim Headington, the independent production company GK Films. The first productions were the action movie Edge of Darkness Martin Campbell and the historical film The Young Victoria. On 31 December 2009 Graham King was appointed as " Officer of the Order of the British Empire" for his services to the British and American film industry.
