Graham Priest

Graham Priest ( born 1948 in London) is a philosopher and logician and professor at the University of Melbourne. He is known for his work on the philosophy of logic and non- classical logic.

Priest has contributed significant essays on paraconsistent logic. Influential in particular his essay was "What is so bad about contradictions? " 1998, in which he argues that from contradictory should not follow Any ( ex falso quodlibet ie counter ). There were examples in physics and in the legal system, in which we take into account inconsistencies, because they would require a far more complex explanation or regulation. It is clear though possibly some blur, but should not be inferred Any. As a result of this view, he has dealt with various alternative logics and authored a standard textbook for non- classical logic, among others.
