Grailknights

The Grailknights are a metal band from Hannover. Their music can be stylistically assign the Melodic Death Metal and Power Metal. Their live performances behinhalten a strong theatrical component that thrives on the interplay between band and audience (called " Battlechoir ").

History

The band was founded in late 2002 by musicians from Wunstorf and Hanover under the name Galactic Grailknights. After some local performances the first, resulting in self-production, album Across the Galaxy was published in 2004. The word "Galactic " was already gone here from the band's name. This was followed by concerts in northern Germany. The second album, Return to Castle Grailskull was almost completed at this time, and came in 2006 in the trade. In the fall of 2008, the Grailknights accompanied the Swedish power metal band Sabaton as the opening act on their European tour.

In November 2009, the Grailknights went for the first time as a headliner on a European tour; support they have been here from the American power metal band Zandelle. In addition to several appearances in Germany, the band was also in Denmark, Poland and Belgium concerts.

In February 2010, the band announced that the Duke of Drumington drummer leaves the band. On 10 March 2010 it was announced that the new drummer Matthias " Metal Machine " Liebetruth (since 2002 drummer of Running Wild ) was hired and performs under the pseudonym " Baron van der Blast ".

On 4 March 2011, the band announced that Lord Lightbringer will leave the band in April and was also announced on 9 July 2011 that Mac Death has left the band for personal reasons. As a replacement for Lord Lightbringer Sovereign Storm will take its place again, which was already active as a replacement for him.

In early December, the "new" Knights presented on the Sabaton Cruise. New here were the Count Cranium as a replacement for Mac Death and Earl Quake as an additional guitarist.

Concept

The eternal struggle of good versus evil is the heart of the concept of the band, which recalls the main features of That the Masters of the Universe. So the Knights perform their eternal battles against Dr. Skull Castle Grailskull, their native castle in Grailham City, from. They even come in this colorful superhero costumes or " superhero armor " on, including of painted face mask as a parody of Corpse Paint. The concerts are staged as a humorous epic battles. Most Dr. Skull has stolen the holy grail of Grailknights and in the course of the concert, this is recaptured by the band.
