Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording
The Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording ( German: " Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording" ) is conferred annually at the Grammy Awards 1998 Music Prize. With it, high quality works from the dance music will be honored. By 2010, Justin Timberlake was honored with two of these prices and is thus the most successful artist in this category.
Background and History
The since 1958 awarded Grammy Awards (actually Gramophone Awards) are presented annually in several categories of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences ( NARAS ) in the United States of America to artistic achievement, technical competence and excellent overall performance without regard to the album to honor sales or chart position.
This prize was first awarded in 1998 as a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording at Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder, for her title Carry On. 2003 established the category Grammy Award for Best Electronic / Dance Album, for each best dance albums. For the category of solo artists, duos, groups, the cooperation of several artists (vocal or instrumental ), and only songs can be nominated.
Statistics
The artist with the most awards are Justin Timberlake and Skrillex, who was honored twice each. So far, most winners Americans were other winners came from the UK, Australia, the Bahamas, France and Italy. Madonna holds the record for the most nominations, with five. Gloria Estefan, who has been nominated three times, is the artist with the most nominations without distinction.
