Gramophonedzie

Gramophonedzie ( Marko Milicevic actually ) is a Serbian DJ from Belgrade.

Biography

Milicevic began DJing as a teenager and later produced music for commercials and movies, and among other things also the theme music for the TV show Big Brother in his homeland. He also collaborated with Basement Jaxx, Roger Sanchez, Bob Sinclar, and others.

An international hit was the Serb project under the name of Gramophonedzie, under which he published in 2006 with Why Do not You. The piece is based on the swing - jazz song Why Do not You Do Right by Peggy Lee in the recording from 1947, which will be sampled in the piece. Originally it was a Blue song Kansas Joe McCoy in 1936 written for his Harlem Hamfats and later revised and vice writes the lyrics. Why Do not You was in the summer of 2009, a Dancefloorhit in Ibiza and conquered in 2010 the clubs in the rest of Europe. In March, the song rose to # 2 on the British dance charts and number 12 in the UK singles charts.

At the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 Gramophonedzie won the regional award for the best artist of the Adriatic region.
