Gramzow

The municipality belongs to the district Gramzow Uckermark the northern Brandenburg and is approximately 13 km from the district town of Prenzlau away. In Gramzow is the administrative headquarters of the Office of the same name, composed of five more communities.

To Gramzow include the districts Mesilla, New Lützlow, Meichow and Polßen as well as the expansion of residential places, forest house, Karlshof, Koboltenhof, Neumeichow, Randow height and Zehnebeck.

History

For the first time in 1168 as Gramzow is Gramsowe villa (village) documented, making it " the oldest documented traditional site of Uckermark " ( Lieselott Enders ). In 1177/78 the Premonstratensian was founded. 1714 burned down the monastery church. To date, a portion of the west wall is still preserved. The monastery ruin is a landmark Gramzows. In 1288 Gramzow is first mentioned as a city, since 1586 only as patches. Lord of the city, the monastery was, from 1542/43 the sovereign ( elector ).

In 1906, the orbit Schönermark - Damme was inaugurated. By 1979, drove trains to Schönermark and to 1995 in the direction of Damme and Prenzlau. On the part of the track between Gramzow and Damme and between Damme and Eickstedt the Railway Museum Gramzow now operates its own route where the starting point is the museum in Gramzow.

December 31, 2001 Lützlow, Meichow and Polßen were incorporated.

Lakes

The village is situated on the lakes Gramzow Klostersee (also Haussee ) and Kantorsee. In the village is the Schulzensee.

In the south ( on the B198 after Angermuende ) the Glambecksee is.

South - west of Gramzow (toward Melzow / Warnitz ) are the Kuhseen ( Big and - Small Kuhsee ). The bathing area to the Great Kuhsee can be reached from Karlshof.
