The Granatspitzgruppe is a subgroup of the Central Alps in the Eastern Alps. Together with the Ankogelgroup, the Goldberg Group, the Glockner Group, the Schober Group, the Kreuzeckgruppe, the Venediger Villgratner the mountains and the Rieserfernergruppe forms the Granatspitzgruppe the large group of the Hohe Tauern. The Granatspitzgruppe located in Austria in the federal states of Salzburg and Tyrol. The highest peak is the Great Muntanitz, 3232 m above sea level. A.

The Granatspitzgruppe located in the central part of the Hohe Tauern. The Felbertauernstraße limits the group in the West. The group stands in the shadow of her famous neighbor groups with the Grossglockner and the Grand Venetian. Namesake of the group is the Granatspitze, 3086 m above sea level. A.
