Grand-Am Road Racing

The Grand American Road Racing Association or shortly Grand-Am is an American motor sports association based in Daytona Beach, Florida, was founded in 1999 and organized car race in North America. The most important series is Grand-Am Sports Car Series ( currently Rolex Sports Car Series ).

On 4 September 2008, NASCAR announced a partnership with the Grand-Am known to allow in the areas of communication, research and marketing a common organization.

With the merger of the Grand-Am Sports Car Series and the American Le Mans Series to United SportsCar Racing, both the united series, as well as all current Grand Am Series for the International Motor Sports Association change.

Racing series in the Grand-Am

The Grand-Am racing series is under construction four from:

  • Rolex Sports Car Series, (since 2000) for Daytona Prototype sports cars and GT cars
  • Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (since 2001) for production-based touring cars and GT cars
  • Ferrari 458 Challenge Series with brand trophy Ferrari 458 Challenge race cars
  • Shell Historic Challenge in which historical models of the brands Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo are used

Previously also were aligned:

  • SunTrust Moto -ST Series (2007-2008) for long distance motorcycle racing (since 2009 under the leadership of the AMA)
  • Ford Racing Mustang Challenge, (2008-2010) in which only Ford Mustang were used
