Grand Cornier

The Grand Cornier is a 3,962 m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Pennine Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

The first ascent was held by Edward Whymper, Christian Almer, Michel Croz and Franz Biner on 16 June 1865. The normal route leads from the Cabane de Moiry in Grimentz via the split -rich Moirygletscher first south on the lower summit ( 3'843 m) and at the end on the northwest in a short climb (III- IV) to the summit. The pre-peak is usually also the endpoint of a Skibesteigung.

At the foot of the Grand Cornier, on Ferpecle and Mont - Miné Glacier, springs the Borgne de Ferpècle.
