Grand County (Utah)
Grand County is a county located in the state of Utah in the United States. 2010 Grand County had 9,225 inhabitants. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Moab, the largest city of the county.
Geography
It covers an area of 9568 square kilometers, of which 32 square kilometers of water. The Green River forms the western boundary of the county. The Colorado River flows through the southeastern part of the County. The county is bordered clockwise to the counties: Uintah County, Mesa County (Colorado), Garfield County ( Colorado), San Juan County and Emery County.
History
The county was founded in 1890 by the Colorado River, the Grand River was formerly named.

According to the census of 2000, there were 8,485 people in Grand County. There were 3,434 households and 2,170 families. The population density was 1 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 92.65 % White, 0.25 % African American, 3.85 % Native American, 0.22 % Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander residents from the and 1.66 % from other races groups; 1.32% were descended from two or more races. 5.55% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 3,434 households out of which 29.80 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 48.60 % were married couples living together, 10.70% had a female householder with no husband. 36.80 % were non-families. 29.50 % of all households and 9.50% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 3.06.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 26.90 % under the age of 18, 8.20 % from 18 to 24, 27.90% from 25 to 44 years, 24.50 % between 45 and 64 years and 12.50% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 96.30 males, 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.10 males.
The median income for a household was $ 32,387, and the median income for a family was $ 39,095. Males have a median income of $ 31,000, women $ 21,769. The per capita income was $ 17,356. 14.80% of the population and 10.90 % of families are below the poverty line. 21.20 % of those under age 18 and 8.40% were 65 years or older.
