Grand Prix of Denver

Streets of Denver ( Pepsi Center ) is a temporary racing circuit which was established from 2002 to 2006 every year for a race in the Champ Car series in the U.S. city of Denver, Colorado. The route took on closed public roads and a parking lot around the Pepsi Center. The city of course has a length of 2.651 km ( 1647 miles ) included 9 curves and is frequented counterclockwise. For 2007, also a Grand Prix of Denver was planned, but was canceled due to scheduling problems earlier this year.

Track characteristics

From the start in the parking lot of the Pepsi Center, we went to a short straight into a tight right -right-left - curve combination. At the end of the following short straight was before the left turn to the left, the entrance to the pit lane, which was not exceptionally at the level of the start and finish. The pit lane and the track used in each case two lanes of the Colorado Avalanche Blvd. This was followed by a left turn onto 9th St after even you got back on track by pit exit. By a roundabout came on right on the Chopper Cir. After two left turns, they came up with the long back straight, running parallel to a railway line. The last left turn was a hairpin to the finish line and offered the best overtaking opportunity.
