Grand Prize of the Danish Academy

Det Danske Akademis Store Pris or Grand Prize of the Danish Academy has been awarded since 1961 and is considered one of the most prestigious literary awards in Denmark. He was initiated awarded by the Danish Academy and 1961-1982 year; 1982 decision was a competition brief in two yearly intervals.

In the first years of the prize money amounted to 50,000 DKK, which Kulturministeriet the government Poul Schlüter 1982 doubled the amount to 100,000 DKK and raised him between 1992 and 1997 to 200,000 DKK. In 1998, the prize money 250,000 DKK and since 2000 the prize is worth 300,000 DKK.
