Grand Puba

Grand Puba ( born March 4, 1966 in New Rochelle, New York as Maxwell Dixon ) is an American rapper. He was a member of the Masters Of Ceremony and is part of the group Brand Nubian, whose front man he was at the first, fourth and fifth album. His lyrics often bear witness to his faith in the Nation of Islam.

Career

Grand Pubas career in music began for him as a member of the Masters of Ceremony. These published in 1988 their album Dynamite, but parted in the same year. Grand Puba was now a member and frontman of Brand Nubian. However, he left this group after their debut in 1990 to pursue a solo career. As a result, released in 1992 the album Reel To Reel, from his most successful single 360 Degrees ( What Goes Around ), and Check It Out featuring Mary J. Blige were released. Three years later, his second album in 2000 before coming back together teamed up with Brand Nubian. Another solo album finally appeared in 2001 with Understand This.
