Grand River (South Dakota)

The Grand River is a right tributary of the Missouri River in South Dakota in the United States. Its length is 177 km.

The Grand River is formed by the confluence of the North Fork (129 km long, coming from North Dakota ) and the South Fork (145 km long) in the vicinity of the place Shadehill in Perkins County, South Dakota, close to the Grand River National Grassland.

The river then flows east through the Standing Rock Indian Reservation and led before the construction of the dam at Lake Oahe Mobridgein the Missouri. Due to the backwater of the Missouri River to the mouth point is already in the reservoir about 15 kilometers west of the city.
