Grande-Terre

Grande- Terre is the eastern of the two main islands of the French overseas departments of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean ( 589 km ²). The western and larger main island is Basse -Terre. The two islands are separated by 60 meters wide and three kilometers long estuary Riviere Salee and the south adjoining Passage de La gabarre.

Capital of Grande -Terre Pointe -à- Pitre in the west of the island.

Grande- Terre is surrounded by coral reefs.
