Grandiosa

Pizza Doctors Cave (also Grandiosa or Grandis ) is the most popular frozen pizza brand in Norway. The word grandiosa comes from Italian and means " great ", " terrific ".

The company Nora (now stabburet ) began on 11 February 1980 with the production of pizza Doctors Cave in Stranda Fylke in Møre og Romsdal. Doctors Cave was one of the first frozen pizzas, which were produced in Norway. The Doctors Cave quickly became the best-selling pizza brand in Norway, but also exported small quantities to neighboring countries Sweden, Finland and Iceland.

20 million pizzas Doctors Cave of the brand are sold in Norway per year. Thus, each Norwegian eats an average of four Grandiosas per year. Since its launch more than 400 million pizzas have been sold in the country. Especially among young Norwegians enjoys the simple and quick -to-prepare frozen pizza great popularity.

According to the company daily 35 tons of flour, 28 tons of cheese and 20 tons of meat are processed for pizza production in Stranda. Nine truckloads then leave the factory every day.

As a curiosity it can be stated that the popular pasta was honored with its own song in 2006: full pakke (Eng. Respect for Doctors Cave ).
