Grant County (Arkansas)

The Grant County is a county located in the state of Arkansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Sheridan. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited. The Grant County is part of the metropolitan Little Rock.

History

Grant County was formed on February 4, 1869 from parts of the Hot Spring County, the Jefferson County and Saline County. It was named after the 18th U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant

One of the first roads in the County was a part of the Camden Trails. The western part of the county was connected by a road with cars capable of Little Rock and Camden. To cross the river, there were five ferries.
