Grant County (Indiana)

Grant County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Marion.

Geography

The County is located in the central northeastern Indiana and has an area of 1074 square kilometers, of which two square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Huntington County, Wells County, Blackford County, Delaware County, Madison County, Tipton County, Howard County, Miami County and Wabash County.

History

Grant County was formed on February 10, 1813 from portions of Cass County, Delaware County and Madison County. It was named after Henry Grant, a politician and U.S. Senator.
