Grant Goldschmidt

Grant Goldschmidt ( born April 16, 1983 in Cape Town ) is a South African beach volleyball player.

Career

Goldschmidt began his career in indoor volleyball and played for the national team. In 2005, he took with Jerome Fredericks for the first time at a tournament of the FIVB Beach in part, finishing in 25th place. After he did not compete internationally in the next two years, in 2008 he formed a duo with Gerson Rorich. Goldschmidt / Rorich completed four open tournaments in Europe and occupied while the seats 41 and 57, the qualification for the Olympic Games in Beijing missed Goldschmidt, however, because of an injury. 2009 and 2010 he was again not active in international tournaments.

Since 2011 he formed a duo with Freedom Chiya. In September Goldschmidt / Chiya won the beach volleyball tournament of the Pan-African Games in Maputo with a victory in the final against a duo from Angola. In 2012 she played at the Prague Open and the Grand Slam in Berlin and Gstaad, without occupying top positions. Another success was the two South Africans, however, in April 2012, when they decided the Continental Cup for themselves and thus qualified for the Olympic Games in London.
