Grant Orchard

Grant Orchard ( * 1972 in London Hounslow ) is a British animator.

Life

Orchard grew up in Ealing, where he attended school. After completion of the Brent Side Secondary School he studied until 1995 animation at the Farnham School of Art and Design (now University for the Creative Arts, Farnham ). He worked from 1997 as a messenger boy for the young animation studio Pizazz Pictures in London, which was later renamed to Studio AKA. He began working at Studio AKA in advertising. His first commercial film was a campaign for Compac. In 2003 Orchard published by Welcome to glaringly his first animated short film, the Channel 4 funded. This was followed by Park Foot Ball 2005, the first own film Orchards who experienced at the festival for digital art, onedotzero, its premiere. Orchards biggest success was 2011 A Morning Stroll, a 2012 BAFTA for Best Short Film and Best Animated Short Film was nominated in the same year for an Oscar in the category.

Since 2012, Orchard has also worked as a visiting lecturer at UCA Farnham.
