Grant Parish, Louisiana

The Grant Parish (French: Paroisse de Grant) is a parish located in the state of Louisiana in the United States. In 2010, the Parish had 22,309 inhabitants and a population density of 13.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( Parish Seat) is Colfax, named after the Vice - President Schuyler Colfax.

History

Grant Parish was formed in 1869 from parts of Rapides Parish and Winn Parish. It was named after the U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant.
