Grant Shaud

Grant Shaud ( born February 27 1961 in Evanston, Illinois; actually Edward Shaud III) is an American actor who became known especially through the role of Miles Silverberg on the television series Murphy Brown from the 1990s.

Career

Childhood and youth

Grant Shaud came in Evanston (Illinois ), the son of Barbara Ann (nee Dougherty ) and Edward Shaud, Jr. to the world. His family was Irish Catholic. He attended Conestoga High School in Berwyn (Pennsylvania), where he graduated in 1979. In 1983 he left the University of Richmond with a degree in journalism. There he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Association.

Career as an actor

Shaud moved in 1984 to New York City to work at the theater. In his first television role was a guest named Jack in Kate & Allie. In 1988 he played the Miles Silverberg in Murphy Brown. He lived with his fellow actress Jane Leeves before and during their contract period on the show together, in which she played his girlfriend. He left the show in 1996, when its main role was taken over by Lily Tomlin.

Most recently, he took on some assignments as voice actors, such as in the movie Antz or the television series Batman: The Animated Series. He starred in The Drew Carey Show the guest role of Jack, who thought of himself to be the devil. He also played the Alex Rosetti in the television series Madigan Men, along with Gabriel Byrne.
